Companion product / Software tooling

A desktop workspace built around a coding agent.
Chudcode gives an agent the same footing an engineer has — the repository, language servers, a debugger, a browser — and gives you the instruments that make delegation safe: diffs, approvals, live review, and sessions you can resume or fork.

Capabilities
What the workspace gives the agent — and you.
Twelve capabilities from the current builds. This is the working set, not a roadmap.
Know
Ground truth
- Repository contextThe agent reads the project as a repository — structure, files, history — not as pasted fragments.
- Language serversSymbols, references, and diagnostics through LSP: the same signal your editor works from.
- DebuggerBreakpoints, stepping, and live program state when reading the code is not proof enough.
- MemoryDurable project facts carry across sessions instead of being re-explained every morning.
Act
Reach
- Browser & computer controlWeb apps and desktop surfaces are testable targets, not descriptions.
- Git workflowBranches, commits, and status live inside the loop, so finished work lands as ordinary commits.
- SubagentsIndependent slices fan out to scoped workers and come back as one reviewable change.
- ArtifactsReports, patches, and generated files persist beyond the conversation that produced them.
Steer
Control
- DiffsEvery edit is a reviewable diff before it is anything else.
- Live advisor & reviewA second pass watches the work while it happens, not after it ships.
- ApprovalsConsequential actions stop and ask. The default is to gate, not to guess.
- Session resume & forkPick a session back up, or fork it to explore an alternative without losing the baseline.
One system
Context, tools, and sessions are one loop, not three features.
Most agent tooling bolts these together after the fact. Chudcode is arranged so each one feeds the next.
Context in
Every turn starts grounded. Repository state, language-server diagnostics, and remembered project facts arrive before the first line of planning — so the agent argues from the codebase, not from a guess about it.
Evidence out
Claims are checked against the running system: a debugger stack, a browser session, a failing command. “Done” means demonstrated, not asserted, and the evidence stays attached to the work as artifacts.
Sessions hold
The whole exchange is a durable session. Resume it tomorrow, fork it to try the other approach, or hand its artifacts and remembered facts to the next one. Nothing important lives only in a scroll buffer.
Workflow
History is the interface.
Chudcode treats your repository’s history as the medium of collaboration. Work arrives as diffs, survives as commits, and branches as forked sessions — readable by every tool you already use.
There is no parallel store of truth. What the agent did is what the diff says it did, and what you kept is what the log says you kept.
Brief
Describe the change the way you would brief a colleague: intent, constraints, and what must not move.
Watch
Live review runs alongside the work. Interject when it drifts; approve when it asks before doing something consequential.
Read the diff
Work lands as diffs against your working tree. Nothing merges itself, and nothing hides inside a generated blob.
Commit or fork
Commit what holds up. Fork the session for the alternative worth comparing. Either way the record is ordinary version control, owned by you.
Availability
The desktop app will be free. The binaries are being prepared.
When public builds ship, Chudcode’s desktop app will be free to download and free to keep using — no subscription, no seat license. Until then, this page carries no download links, because a link that does not work is worse than none.
Now — in development
The core runs
v0.1.0 is tagged, with a verified Linux command-line build. The desktop workspace exists and is being completed — it is not downloadable yet.
Next — public preview
Packaged builds
Desktop binaries are being prepared for public release. This section will link them the day they exist — no placeholders before that.
Then — release
Free, and kept free
The desktop app ships free with no subscription. The workspace described above is the product, not the top tier of one.
The flagship
Chudware CAD comes first.
Chudcode is the companion — the tool for the software around the hardware. The flagship is Chudware itself: parametric CAD, simulation, CAM, and product data, from sketch to shop floor.
