CAM and manufacturing
Set up stock, create operations, simulate toolpaths, and review output before it reaches a machine.
Define the job
Open the Manufacture workspace and create a job from the active part. Select the machine or post target, define stock, and set a work coordinate system that the operator can reproduce.
Build operations in process order
Choose tools from the project library, then add facing, pocketing, contouring, drilling, or 3D operations as needed. Name setups and operations for the actual manufacturing intent, not generic sequence numbers.
Simulate before posting
Generate the toolpath and run simulation with tool, holder, stock, and rapid moves visible. Investigate collisions, unexpected remaining stock, gouges, and rapids through fixtures. A generated path is not automatically a safe path.
Review machine output
Post G-code only for the machine and controller profile you intend to use. Compare units, work offsets, tool numbers, spindle limits, and the first moves. Use dry-run and single-block procedures at the machine according to your shop’s safety process.
