Your first part
Create a constrained sketch, extrude it, round its edges, and save an editable Chudware part.
Start a part
Choose File → New Part. Give the document a descriptive name such as mounting-bracket; revision numbers belong in project history, not in the filename.
Sketch the base
Select the Top plane, choose Sketch, and draw a center rectangle. Add horizontal and vertical relations, then use Smart Dimension to set its width and depth. A fully defined sketch cannot drift when upstream dimensions change.
Make it solid
Exit the sketch and choose Extrude. Set the height, preview the result, and confirm. The feature appears beneath the sketch in the Feature Manager.
Select the outside vertical edges and add a Fillet. If the preview fails, reduce the radius or check whether the selected edges meet a very short face.
Save the editable design
Save as .step+. This native file keeps the feature tree, dimensions, materials, studies, and drawings. Export STEP or STL only when another tool needs a flattened handoff.
